Bar Association of the Black Sea-Caspian region set up in Sofia
On 19.01.2016, representatives from Bulgaria, Russia, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Macedonia, Serbia, Iran and Greece set up the Bar Association of the Black Sea-Caspian region. This was done in the course of an international round table in the Union of Bulgarian Jurists, where representatives of the above countries participated in the forum "Current problems in the development of legal theory and practice of the countries of the Black Sea-Caspian region." Organizers of the event are the "Slaviani" Foundation, the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, the Institute for Strategy and Analysis (ISA) and the European Polytechnic University. Forthcoming is the adoption of the Charter of the Association and its governing bodies. Readiness to join the Association have declared representatives of several Balkan countries, including Romania, Croatia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania. The Association is an international NGO, formed on a voluntary basis, , which is created as a subsidiary body to the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization, set up 20 years ago.
